The 50 States of LEGO
For the most part, stereotypes exist for a reason. So many people in a specific area or in a specific culture share the same tendencies. But not all stereotypes are bad! For sure there are some nasty ones, but that isn’t what this post is about. These LEGO depictions of each American state focus on fun, lovable stereotypes. Things like how much Alabama loves their college football or that Iowa is known for corn. Some aren’t even stereotypes. They are comical portrayals of the state’s history such as Paul Revere warning “the British are coming” in Massachusetts.
The creator of these awesome LEGO scenes is Jeff Friesen, with help from his 7-year-old daughter, June. While Friesen is actually a Canadian, he spent several years living in and traveling around the United States. I think he nailed a lot of these and I’ve lived in the U.S. my entire life.
Side note: If you’re wondering why there are 51 photos but only 50 states, California has been broken into north and south.
