Julian Edelman Made the ESPYs Worth Watching..For a Minute
I’m not much of an award show guy. I do think it’s great to recognize the best people in your field. But I have no interest in watching it on television. That being said, they do provide these occasional moments that, for a minute, I’m glad these shows exist.
Peyton Manning hosted the 25th (I know, right?) annual ESPYs. He opened up the show with a monologue that had some great zingers (roasted Kevin Durant about jumping ship to an already successful team), and some complete duds. You can watch the entire thing below before it gets pulled offline.
But my favorite moment of the night is when Julian Edelman took the microphone after the Patriots won for Best Game with the Super Bowl 51 victory. Edelman used the opportunity to roast Manning a bit.

The indoors joke, if you aren’t a football fan, is a shot at the common knowledge regarding Manning playing well indoors and not so well outdoors. Peyton played most of his career in a dome in Indy, plus he rocks a 1-5 playoff record when the kickoff temperature has been 40 degrees or lower.
Pats fans everywhere are holding their head high today. Like everyday.
