Impractical Jokers Are Part of the Sauce Monsters Family

The Impractical Jokers, along with TruTV, took over San Diego’s Petco Park for a massive block party during Comic-Con 2017. This was the second year of the now annual event, which generated 16,500 attendees (up from 11,000 last year.) Below is my dumb face geeking out as I am a huge fan of the show. The hot woman is my wife.

The event had various stations built on the baseball field for fans to enjoy. The games were based off popular moments in the show such as a “pseudo sumo” ring, mechanical bull riding, and a virtual reality high wire experience. The also had cool things for families like a White Castle food truck and Wheel of Doom tattoos.

The crowd size varied as the day went on. The guys did autographs at night, so the evening crowd was the biggest of the day. But fans who showed up early to the block party were treated to special moments. One moment being Murr coming on stage with Benjamin Cat and throwing free gifts to the crowd (I snagged some pins.)

My favorite part of the day was the exclusive press conference that allowed me to meet the Impractical Jokers. (I still can’t believe SauceMonsters.com got in.) Admittedly, the “press” was mainly just a bunch of bloggers including one guy dressed like a creepy clown. The guys came into the room after the “press” was setup, and they seemed pretty blindsided that we were there already. But Sal, Q, and Murr took it in stride and honestly answered every question thrown at them, busting out some jokes causing the room to erupt in laughter. As you can see, Joe Gatto was absent from the event. The 41-year-old father was with his pregnant wife as she is having their second child, a boy.

I was unprepared when they called on me, fumbling to get my phone out to record the question and answer. After stumbling like an idiot because I was fanboying out, I recorded the Q & A. I apologize greatly for the shitty video and sound. My question: “If you could have one celebrity cameo on the show and they had to show up, who would you pick?” Murr: Steve Carell or Jim Carrey. Sal: Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys. Q: Mick Jagger.

A PR rep was trying to get the Jokers out before people started asking for personal photos. A number of people ignored the rep’s request. But the guys were happy to oblige and take photos with everyone on their way out. I didn’t want to get myself banned from next year so I took this shitty selfie which I’m counting as a photo with them. This is also the face you can punch for taking such a lousy video.
