A Craigslist Ad Every Dad Should Apply For
The best Craigslist ad I have seen this year comes to us by way of Spokane, Washington. A couple of dudes are throwing a BBQ. They don’t want to be stuck at the grill for several hours during the party so they are hiring a “Generic Father Figure” to handle food. The job description is pretty hilarious. The ad has been deleted (probably Craigslist not having a sense of humor,) but some screen grabs are below.
“Refer to all attendees as “Big Guy,” “Chief,” “Sport,” “Champ” etc (whilst drinking beer)” puts this over the top for me. The things they expect a dad to talk about is also perfect.
Although the ad has been deleted, the story has gotten so popular the dudes who made it were featured on their local news. They even have people reaching out and trying to get hired for the gig.
And if you’re wondering about the man in the photo, the boys found him while doing a generic Google image search for “grill dad.” But because of the virality of their post, they got to actually meet the guy. He’s a Canadian father with 55 years of grilling experience.
